This is a conversation between Cyotie911, Draykhar, Denevien, thrawn21, and barneygale. This took place in IRC, and was intended to explain the definition of "drama" used in the ban appeal.

<Denevien>     So, to start, we do plan to post this conversation later

<draykhar>     We're trying to keep this appeal as public as possible, so that if any instances arise in the future, both sides are appropriately accounted.
<Denevien>     We have been discussing your appeal amongst ourselves, and came with a few conditions that will go with the unbanning from the subreddit and IRC
<thrawn21>     and forums
<barneygale>   seems fair
<Denevien>     First, we are expecting this to be a trial run of trusting you
<barneygale>   Denevien: yeah, that's what I see it as too
<Denevien>     I've been keeping up with posts on your subreddit, and I saw that it was one of your argument points, that you had no way to show you changed
<barneygale>   It's difficult when 99% of my interaction with the greater community is a subreddit where people expect criticism/essays
<barneygale>   It's hard to write positive journalism
<draykhar>     Right, that's another point we'll be addressing.
<barneygale>   but I don't want to be confined to journalism anymore
<Denevien>     Though, we still recognize you may not fully agree with the way things are ran, we don't want you to cause "drama" while getting that sorted
<thrawn21>     we're here to talk about the difference between positive and negative critisim
<barneygale>   Honestly I'm going to stay about 100ft away from any drama on the subreddit

<Cyotie911bot> barneygale, I know that you have had some problems with some of the staff in the past.
<Denevien>     but, with all the pseudo-barneys out there, it seems to follow you without you willing it
<barneygale>   Denevien: I will do anything you suggest to try and deter them
<Denevien>     even though, you have personally called them out, and asked them to stop (which is not something we are holding against you)
<Cyotie911bot> I want to make myself available to address any issues you may have but I would like to do so in private.
<barneygale>   Cyotie911bot: understood. I will come to the head admins first.
<Cyotie911bot> Then together any problems we can address to the public.
<thrawn21>     As we do want public disussion of protential issues and problems
<Cyotie911bot> I am not trying to hide your concerns from public view. I just want to try to contain any sort of drama that might become of any problems
<thrawn21>     just not oritented to tear down, rather than build up
<barneygale>   thrawn21: but it needs to be framed in the right way, with all sides feeling they can chip in with reasonable suggestions
<Cyotie911bot> I believe that if we can come up with some solutions before things go public then it wont be mistaken as drama and will also show that we are taking your concerns seriously
<draykhar>     We know nerd isn't perfect, and has a lot of things that we can iron out, however the methods used in the past just tend to cause uproar

<Cyotie911bot> barneygale, I really would like for you to become a part of the community and do value your opinions, however, I am just trying to keep the posts that might be mistaken as attacks against someone as attacks and not critisim

<Denevien>     We appreciate you taking the time to chat with us on this. We are completing our final wording on the matter, and should be responding to your ban appeal within the next couple of hours
<Denevien>     We appreciate the patience you've shown throughout this appeal
<barneygale>   Oh not at all. I've heard you've all put a great deal of effort into this, and I thank you for that
<barneygale>   If you want to take another week or two then feel free, I won't mind
<barneygale>   Also if you're not all 100% in agreement, i.e. if some of you feel like I should be unbanned immediately, and some feel I should wait a month or two, I'd rather you went with the latter so that the unban has universal support rather than just majority.
